WSJ reported an alliance between Dell and Google.As a result of this Dell computers will come pre-installed with Google search engines for the hard drive, email and the web. This is a patented MSFT move that annoyed many competitors. Google is beginning to look more and more like a software/SaaS company.

Just started to use this product from Google. It is a way to share stories and links with colleagues. At this point, it can be kept private or public -- can't selectively provide access to content. Once they start allowing tags and social bookmarking, they can be a threat to del.icio.us.

Google's entry into eBay's turf via Google Base has caused a partnership between Yahoo and ebay ( see story). Yahoo will be providing ad services and in return using Paypal for its properties. Wonder how MSFT will respond to this.

Peter Simoons from IBM pointed me to this documentary that was aired on Dutch television about Google. Although the commentary is in Dutch, all interviews are in English with Dutch subtitles. Many interesting people are interviwed for this story and they raise technical and social issues about search engines and Google.
