NBC and News Corp have
announced plans to create a YouTube rival. Given the recent difficulties that YouTube has been having with hosting content from Viacom and others, this is interesting. The other side to the equation is user generated content. While this announcement expects to support such content, nothing unique has been announced in the news release. Meanwhile, keep an eye out for sites like blinkx, revver and brighcove.
